Just like anything else, you want to be sure you’re not consuming an excessive amount of protein, because the body then starts to store it as fat.

A general rule of thumb is to consume roughly around one gram of protein (per pound) of body weight; ( if you weigh 150 pounds, and want to gain muscle, you should intake 150 grams of protein per day).
