How to Make Stuffed Turkey Peppers: Quick and Easy!

If you’re like me, then your time is precious. You don’t have a minute to waste during the day. In fact, you often wish that there were more than just 24 hours in a day. As a wife, mother, author, blogger and business owner, I am constantly trying to buy time! Therefore, my goal has always been to work smarter, not harder. Finding and coming up with quick recipes that I can make for my family has always been at the top of my list of things to do. Not only is there hardly any preparation time involved in making stuffed turkey peppers, it’s also healthy and delicious. That alone is a great combination and worth trying out!

UTENSILS:

• Skillet
Baking sheet

 

INGREDIENTS:

• 4 Large Bell Peppers (Multicolor are my favorite, but any color will do)
• 1 lb. Lean Ground Turkey
• 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
• 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
• 1 Cup of cooked Brown Rice
• 1 can of Tomato Sauce

OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS:

• Chopped peppers
• Oregano
• Sea Salt
• Onions
• Pepper

 

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Place skillet on the stove on medium heat.
3. Place ground turkey into the skillet, add onions and chopped peppers. Cook until brown.
4. Drain grease from skillet and add sea salt, pepper, and oregano, to taste.
5. Stir in tomato sauce and brown rice.
6. Remove skillet from heat and set aside.
7. Wash large peppers and remove the top. Remove insides from the pepper and discard.
8. Place peppers onto the baking sheet and retire them to the oven for 10 minutes.
9. Remove peppers from oven and spoon the ground turkey mixture into the peppers.
10. Place into the oven for another 10 to 15 minutes or until peppers are tender.
11. Remove peppers from the oven sprinkle with cheese, serve and eat!
